Weight Training
Ten years ago you could have walked into a gym and not even noticed a weight room. Back then that type of training was thought to be only for athletes and the general public stuck with cardio. In the last ten years resistance (or weight) training has become a popular style of training. Anyone wishing to increase functional strength, muscular size, muscular endurance, body shape and toning or if you just want to improve your performance for daily activities, then resistance training is essential.
Here we have listed some more common exercises by muscle group for you to look at and to get an understanding of the different muscle groups. It is important to maintain proportion through the body. eg, Don't train chest 3 times a week and neglect your back. Over developing muscles and neglecting others will lead to long term injury.
NOTE: The exercise's contained in this section are not fitness programs, meaning that you don't follow one whole section for one muslce group. Every person has different advantages and disadvantages thus allowing certain people not being able to preform types of exercises. Please consult a qualified personal trainer before undertaking any exercise so its doesn't course harm or discomfort.
